Brief:
This kindergarten design is split into two main areas with the entry foyer providing a degree of separation while also linking the main activity area to the rest of the building. Te Puna Kindergarten has an open plan and features three kitchens to keep the little mouths fed throughout the day. This provides the ultimate level of functionality for the kindergarten. Mod Architecture designed the building to a high level of sustainability where chemical-free properties were used where possible. As you can see, a key feature in the main activity area is the acoustic ply ceiling with ventilating skylights. Cost-effective energy efficiency, was a key factor in the brief of this project.
